CIWON SO Complete Document Written By Khadeeja Candy

Description

"I didn't have this success alone; it belongs to our club and is a result of our coach's efforts. I am grateful." Aunty Amarya smiled as she watched her son confidently answer the journalists' questions. No matter which angle they captured him from, he looked poised and ready. His coach sat on his right, and the team leader stood by his side. Aunty Amarya lifted her head from the giant plasma screen and glanced at the GMT clock in their luxuriously decorated living room. Just as she stood up, her iPhone rang in her hand. She greeted the call with a smile, placing the phone to her ear.

"Ammy."

"Anty, are you awake and safe?"

"Alhamdulillah."

"Is Abiey with you at home?"

"I'm about to wake him up now."

"Oh, Anty, I hope he realizes that his success is not worth jeopardizing his relationship with God. I made sure his marriage was arranged with Sauban. He shouldn't spend the night anywhere else but with her. Even if he stays somewhere else for the night, he won't reach the same level of fulfillment. He's not close to Abiey."

"He came to my place last night around one o'clock. You know he was tired, but I'll wake him up now."

"Why did he spend the night at your place? He knows he should be at my house. He shouldn't have done that."

Ammy frowned, displeased. Doc Zainab, who sat beside her, touched her lips gently.

"Ammy, the more you talk, the more you push Anty to get him into more trouble. Let him deal with the consequences himself. We can tie the knot later. Anty said she forgot to wake him up."

Aunty Amarya could hear their conversation as she sat close by. She simply smiled, ended the call, and headed upstairs. The door to her son's room creaked open as she entered. The room was cool and dimly lit, as if it were still nighttime. At the edge of the bed, she saw her son lying on his stomach, eyes closed. Karasa, their pet, sat nearby, gazing at his handsome face, gently caressing his hair. In that moment, he opened his eyes, a hint of sadness visible. Aunty Amarya closed her eyes, still smiling.

"Aren't you sad?" she asked.

He closed his eyes and replied, "I can't afford to be."

"I thought you were angry, so I didn't wake you up. Did you forget it's Sauban's wedding today?"

He looked up at her.

"That's why I came back yesterday, remember? But today, Aunty, I feel like I won't go."

Aunty gently ran her hand through his thick hair.

"Today is an important day in Sauban's life. It's a once-in-a-lifetime event. As his friend, you should be there for him."

Aunty spoke, then got up and walked to his closet, opening it. She took out an exquisite gizner and placed it on the bed.

"Let me fetch your royal hat. Since you've abandoned your Hausa attire, make sure you come back and get ready. Narjis will bring you breakfast now."

He stood up and shook his head.

"No, Aunty, I can't eat anything right now."

"Yesterday, when you returned, you didn't eat anything. And now you're saying you won't eat? Abiey, didn't you promise me that everything would pass?"

He lowered his head with a smile that revealed pure sadness and concern.

"Everything will pass, Aunty. It will all become a distant memory. But Zahra's love will never leave my heart. I married Zahra's love, and she married mine. I'm alive only because her love resides within me. The day her love leaves my veins is the day I'll distance myself from life. I believe everything will pass, except Zahra's love."

He walked to the windows, pulled back the curtains, and let the sunlight flood the room. Aunty calmly turned and left, a heavy sigh escaping her lips. She walked with purpose, her mind filled with prayers for her troubled son. As she descended the stairs, tears began to gather in her eyes.

"May God comfort this child and guide him," she murmured.

She entered the dining room, where Narjis was preparing breakfast for her brother. Aisha, her other daughter, glanced at her with concern.

"Aunty..."

Aunty Bride looked troubled. Aisha hurriedly reached for her phone, approaching Aunty with care.

"Something's wrong, Aunty."

"Abiey, right?" Narjis asked, and Aunty raised her tear-streaked face.

"I have never seen anyone's heartache affect me as much as Abiey's. Every little thing that happens to him breaks my heart."

She sat down on a chair and looked at Aisha.

"Aisha, I thought he had recovered and moved on, but since his return, he has changed completely. It's as if he's trying to escape from his own mind. He's been talking to himself, which is unlike him."

"Aunty, I feel like Sauban's wedding is triggering this behavior. He must be reminiscing about Zahra."

Narjis spoke while serving the breakfast. Aisha reached out and took the plate.

"Let me take it to him."

Narjis handed it over, and Aisha pulled a chair beside Aunty and sat down. She quietly entered Abiey's room, finding him adjusting his shirt. She waited until he finished and then entered, catching him off guard. He turned to face her, a smile playing on his lips. After a moment, he raised an eyebrow at her, and she quickly turned around, exclaiming, "Subhanallah, I look terrible!" before hurriedly leaving the room.

"Abiey..."

He turned around swiftly, as if awakening from a daze, and looked at Aunty, who was holding his new hat.

"Zahra has been gone for a long time. Keep that in your heart, open it to the truth, and accept it."

Tears welled up in his eyes.

"Zahra is alive, Aunty. She's here with me...!"

He placed his hand over his heart to indicate her presence. Aunty bent down and gently placed the hat on his head, tears streaming down her own face. She turned and left without saying another word to him. She pushed open the door and descended the stairs, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.

"May God ease this child's burdens," she whispered.

She reached the ground floor and headed to the dining room. Narjis, who was preparing breakfast for her brother, looked at Aisha, then turned to their mother.

"Aunty..."

Aunty Bride appeared worried. Aisha swiftly grabbed her phone and approached Aunty with concern.

"Something happened, Aunty."

"Abiey, right?"

Narjis inquired
