Prologue

One day, as he was making his way through the village, he saw Abulle walking towards him. His heart leapt in his chest, and he could feel his palms growing sweaty. As she got closer, he opened his mouth to greet her, but before he could say a word, she spoke.

"What do you want?" she asked, her tone hostile and dismissive.

Mai Unguwa was taken aback by her harsh words, but he didn't let it deter him. He knew that he had to win her over, no matter the cost.

"I want you, Abulle," he said, his voice low and intense. "I want you to be mine."

Abulle scoffed at his words, her eyes narrowing in anger.

"You are a fool, Mai Unguwa," she spat. "I would never be with a man like you. You are old, and you have many wives. I have no interest in being just another one of your possessions."

Mai Unguwa felt a sense of despair wash over him. He had been so consumed by his desire for her that he had never stopped to consider the consequences of his actions.

"I am sorry, Abulle," he said, his voice shaking with emotion. "I never meant to offend you. I just...I can't help the way I feel."

Abulle looked at him for a moment, her expression softening slightly.
